As part of an internship project, contributed to the successful construction of a technical classroom lab at Kentlake High School. Worked closely with the team lead to install and configure 20+ computer workstations intended for beginning programming courses. Responsibilities included unboxing and setting up desktops and monitors, ensuring they were securely installed and properly configured with dual monitor displays. Additionally, managed cords and ensured a clean and efficient workspace for a smooth student experience.
Designed and built a Bracket Display Page for Mando's Disc Golf, allowing players to add their team names and qualifications to the tournament and input competition details. Contributed to the implementation of a sprint structure using Dykstra's algorithm to break down the project into smaller, manageable tasks with clear due dates. Demonstrated communication with my team members, providing regular updates and ensuring that team members were aware of their roles and responsibilities. Despite our best efforts, however, we encountered some unforeseen challenges towards the end of the sprint that ultimately led to an unsuccessful project delivery. Worked closely with my team to identify the root causes of the challenges we faced and developed action plans to address them moving forward. This experience taught me valuable lessons about the importance of project planning, effective communication, and problem-solving skills in a team setting.
Organized my math tutor's computer files into specific folders to improve efficiency and accessibility. Demonstrated how to use a hierarchical folder structure based on broad topics that can be further organized into sub-folders, similar to an inheritance hierarchy in programming. In exchange for my assistance, received several free tutoring lessons.
In the video game Destiny 2, a Sherpa is an experienced player who guides and teaches new players how to complete the game's most challenging activities. As a Sherpa, I have provided guidance on the best strategies, explained game mechanics, and offered tips to help new players improve their skills and become more confident in the game. Through my mentoring, players were able to complete complex tasks that would have been daunting otherwise. As a result of my support, new players have been able to enjoy the game, build their skills, and form connections within the game's community.
